I'm getting to grips with your free version and am hoping that these questions are addressed in the paid version.
1. For the dates used - created, modified, etc - it would be nice to have the option of specifying what that date means. Currently, if I use Created date and Modified date in the template builder, all it shows is a date. The user has no clue what that date means. It would be nice to have the field label available for display so it says "Created Date: <date>". Currently there's just a random date. Yes, I understand there's an icon used that does show a tool tip if moused over, but straight text would be nice as an option. So would the option of being able to specify the date format.

Edit above: OK, I did it with overrides. I removed the icons and replaced with text. Satisfactory, but not as easy (especially for non-programmers like me) as it could be.

Date format - I assume the component picks it up from Joomla's default setting. Could we get the option to set the forma in the component?

Extra fields. Add the option for an image or video. Currently there's no way to add extra images or videos if needed other than placing them in the main text body.

In the template editor (which is a cool feature - thanks), there are fields for padding and margins in the settings of each row. However, I can't make it do anything. No matter what value or values I put in there, no padding or margin set. Strange.

What CSS file gives styling to buttons in the component? The ability to style these in the component would be really nice and useful. The same, somewhat, applies to the heading text on the detail page. It is not picking up the site template heading CSS. Why is this happening as the categories page correctly displays fonts?

Filtering by tags only works for the items on that page. It does not include items on other pages (assuming standard pagination is used - haven't tried on Ajax). This is bad as visitors may miss seeing some examples.

Lastly, the menu item appears above the top item (in my case, the image). I can find no way to turn this off.

HI,

As we can see, most of your questions above relates to features of template style. Could you please let us know which template you're applying to TZ Portfolio+? Then we will give you detail answers for them.

- About this point: "The menu item appears above the top item (in my case, the image)" >> Please go to Menus > menu item > turn off "Show page heading"

Thank you for the reply. However, there are a number of items that remain unanswered. I have copied those below.

Also, you have not fully understood my question regarding filters. It isn't whether or not they show, but WHAT they show when clicked. I am using "Ajax button" instead of pagination (however, this same issue applies to standard pagination as well, but "Infinite scroll" does not have the issue). I have the "page limit" set to 12, so, whether standard pagination or Ajax button is selected, the display stops at 12 items. To get more I need to click a button of some type. However, if I click a filter - say "Trades" - I only see the trades for the current display, not every portfolio item that is in the "Trades" category. This will lead a visitor to think I have less Trades clients than I do. Please try it for yourself here - https://www.citruskiwi.com/digi - click Trades. 5 will be displayed, then start scrolling and a "Legal" one is shown (why? It definitely is assigned to "Websites" and sub category "Legal";). However, 2 other Trades items are not shown. Filters are not working as expected. Yes, I can turn on infinite scrolling and it works, but I don't really want that.

Somewhat related to the above issue is filtering (again) in the backend. I used the search filters to look for Trade only. Search Tools | Trade (in the category field) and it shows zero entries. Trades is a sub-category and I have every entry with a main category of Websites, then a secondary category of whatever it may be, but it should still show if filtered in this way. It seems filtering needs some work all round.

OK, 2 previously asked items which remain answered:

1. Extra fields. Add the option for an image or video. Currently there's no way to add extra images or videos if needed other than placing them in the main text body.

2. In the template editor (which is a cool feature - thanks), there are fields for padding and margins in the settings of each row. However, I can't make it do anything. No matter what value or values I put in there, no padding or margin set. Strange.

Hello Ian Shere,

Thanks for your interest with TZ Portfolio. I glad to answer your questions.

  1. Date format option in back-end is a great idea. I note it to task-list. We will update it in the next version.
  2. TZ Portfolio is a open system with many Add-on. We will create Add-on for Video extrafield and Image extrafield in the new future.
  3. For theme editor we tested on my local. Template builder is working with padding and margin. May you send me your admin account via private message or [email protected]. I will help you check it.
  4. Button style is depend of your template style. We don't offer style for detail. It might put a headaches for template developer when they override template.
  5. Filter with tag and category is display item on current page only. If you need display more you have to click to ajax button or load the next page. Your idea is very nice. I will consider to use ajax load in the next version.

Thanks & Best Regards,
Sonny
